Fireworks at Marina Bay Countdown 2014/2015.

When people say,
'2015 - please treat me better' - I don't necessarily believe in things like that.
I usually believe that it's how you treat the year, your attitude and actions towards things that'll make the year count.
Is 2015 a noun, you think it has a mind of its' own on how you will be treated?

2015 is the year I start feeling like I'm not a small kid anymore. I'm getting to be a little more than a quarter of a century old (just a little!) and it's time to take on more responsibilities I guess.

Let's work hard, guys.
6 days of Japan, over in an instant.

Time always passes so fast when you're travelling - and in a flash, I'm back at reality, at work already.

Let's work even harder, so as to earn another trip to Japan.

皆さん、頑張ってね‼

Day 1 from Narita Airport: waiting for the Toei Subway Line to take us to our hotel.

We stayed at the Chisun Inn Asakusa this Tokyo trip - and both me & the boy thought it was a great hotel.

The rooms are small as per every other Japan hotel, but the location to nearby attractions and the train lines are really fantastic.

It was near 2 metro lines, near 2 convenience stores, and near Senso-Ji Shrine too! (All less than 10 minutes' walk away!)

Also, the housekeeping was quite immaculate in keeping each corner of the room clean. Staff are well-versed in English, and helpful, to boot!

We booked our hotel & accomdation via Expedia.com.sg.

We set off on Sunday evening, transited via Kuala Lumpur, and arrived in Narita Airport on Monday 07:40am.

For departure, we set off on Saturday 21:40pm, transited via KL again, and arrived in Singapore Sunday morning.

Flight and accommodation (including taxes) cost us 674 SGD each, via Malaysia Airlines. :)

Our hotel was right next to (and opposite, they had 2 buildings) the Bandai HQ. You can see the line of characters lining up the path of the building.

It was also a (less than) 10 minutes walk from Senso-Ji Shrine.

We spent Day 1 at Asakusa, exploring the streets and the shrine. Since we still had time before check-in, we set off to Akihabara, aka Electronic Land. Because I was too busy sweeping anime stuff, no pictures from the phone was taken lol.

Day 2 was spent at my absolute favorite place ever. Ever.

Tokyo DisneySea. Japan is the only place in the world to have a DisneySea. There's a Disneyland right beside, but that one has rides other Disneyland around the world has.

It's said that DisneySea is catered more towards adults because of the nature of the rides, and I found that true. More teens and couples are here as compared to families each time we went.

It's a very common to see groups of friends dressing up themselves in similar costumes to come here, too.

We went on a weekday, but it was still crazy crowded.

Harajuku & Shibuya was on the list the next day. Wanting a quiet start, we went to Meiji-Shrine.

Yokohama on Day 5, featuring the ferris wheel at Cosmo World.

Cosmo World is a free-to-enter theme park, but goes by a ride-to-ride ticketing basis. As we went to DisneySea for the rides already, we skipped this and went to..
The pictures on the website are really, really, misleading. They paint the aquariums as this really big, glorious place but all I saw was that the marine animals just look sad and too big for their small enclosures.
The enclosures also don't look very clean... . I don't know. I really wouldn't recommend this place for those who love marine life - maybe you'll be as sad as I was after I left, seeing the state of the tanks.

The Dolphin Fantasy in the resort was really ... though. (I'm sorry, I can't find any words for it.) It featured a walk-through tunnel with maybe 4 dolphins, then a round tank featuring a really, really big Sunfish. .... That was it. (Lol)

Or maybe don't expect too much - expect nothing, maybe it's good enough for you.
Our last day was spent at Skytree Town. We first went to the Tokyo Skytree. How can you go to Tokyo and not go to an Observatory Deck right?

/edit 22 Aug: Added some of my own shots taken at the event at the end!

Is it even apt for me to term myself as a fangirl, given my age now?
Okay I'm not that old I know but I guess going to a concert & seeing boisterous young girls going crazy does something to your thoughts.

The event on Saturday was sorta like a mini-excursion for us.
A bunch of girls, gossiping, chatting the time away.. But coupled with the bonus of seeing our favourite oppa.
We were more mellow compared to the first few times we saw him, now it's all anxious waving instead of full-on screaming.
I guess we are getting older, aren't we? (But hey! Mr Kang is more of our age group no?)

Mr. Kang does look happier this time though, all the full-on smiling and smirks (Oh my fangirl feels lol)
(I wonder if he remembers my signboard, he was staring at it lol... Looks like bringing it to every event works!)

My own pictures aren't ready yet: these are from TNP Backstage, by Gavin foo.
Amazing pictures though, and for my own keepsake I'd thought I'll put them here.

Maybe I'll add my own pictures next time. For now, enjoy these of Mr. Kang Gary (& Jung In, who has amazing, amazing vocals.)

Kang Gary's not always the man you see on Running Man.

The Kang Gary on stage excludes this charm that is different to the one you see on variety. He loses himself to the beat & rhythm of the music so easily & readily, it makes you drunk in the same manner.

When he sways with the music, the looks he gives you is enough to do the same.

Part of his attraction is how he looks like a bad boy but is actually a good boy at heart.

Oh, the point that he's not bad looking either? That helps.

As usual. All shots below are taken by me. It would be impossible for me to upload all 625 shots of the event here, but I would be happy to offer you the Dropbox folder link. Just drop me an email & I'd assist.

Prior to this, I've never owned a rabbit before. I've had hamsters, house mice, fishes and terrapins, but not bunnies.

When she is on my chest looking at me with those grey eyes, I feel like giving her all I have.
I guess it's an indication of how I'll be a mom next time wtf. (Read: Spoil my kids rotten)

We got her on the 1st of August (Just yesterday!) and I wanted to document things a bit, so here I am.
As usual, please go to my dayre for almost daily updates.

Ah, as I'm typing this Mokona (That's the name we decided to give her.. :) is giving me the puppy-eyed look cos she wants to come out and play..
I've put her back in her cage as my mom's back and I don't want her to run around with Mom's bigfoot squishing her lol.

Short intro about her: Mokona is a 3 month old pure-breed Netherlands Dwarf with grey eyes.
Some shots of her I managed to get today - she's still quite shy about her surroundings, being new here.
But I've seen her do a binky today, and it's the most adorable thing. (Apart from her licking me, that's cute too. And and her sniffing on my chest!! And... okay I'll stop rambling wtf.)

Her name is drawn from the anime, Tsubasa Chronicles. Google it if you're interested!

Mokona's quite the timid bunny - but then again I think all bunnies are timid, easily scared by large noises.

Everytime she sees me open the top latch she gets ridiculously happy, bouncing around the cage. Bunnies need to be fed an unlimited amount of hay daily, for their nutrition needs, and for their teeth.

I have to say: it made me feel appreciated. Even though we don't meet often, he's always been the consistent one who's been there for me.. And apparently vice versa. Throughout each other's shit, he's the one who calls me out on my bullshit, but still listens to me whine throughout it all.

And that's good enough. We may not meet up often, but everytime we meet it's like we never lost contact: we still chatter concessively.

In the evening was a pre-birthday celebration with the girls. It was also Elyn's mummy's birthday (Yay to Cancerians!) and she insisted on footing the bill. A tad guilty about that though, we should be the ones doing that instead ._.

This year, this birthday, I'm glad to realize some things. Quality, not the quantity.

The people around me, those whom I love, who love me back.

Simple things but they make me thankful. What are you thankful for today?

I wonder if it's just me, or it's everyone else.

People go on holidays to recharge, don't they?
I come back from a holiday even more dreading to go back to work.

When I awoke today, it's like my eyes were silts, could barely open them.
Not sure if it's the 'good friend' visiting or if it's just the lethargic-ness doing its' thing.

As part of our annual #thecousinalliance travel plans: we headed to Hanoi, Vietnam this year.
On our way to the airport, the taxi uncle mentioned, 'Do not expect anything & it'll astound you.'

I'll tell you what astounded me first: the amount of motorcycles, and the pollution.
Being aboard, it makes you appreciate your own country more.

This trip was an amazing one, though. It's really the company that makes a trip worthwhile.
Makes me reminisce the Phuket trip last year with Chong and Greg - ah, those were the days.

I think I'm at the age now where I think family is the most important thing of all.
You can not bother about other things, but family - family are the ones who'll be there with you, regardless.. Till the end.
Almost 85% of the population have motorcycles in Hanoi. Roads are dangerous to cross, do not proceed if you do not have the nerves!
Little Hanoi. Our guide took us here, knowing our family are big fans of 'Running Man'.

It was filmed right here!We booked a tour guide from Hanoi Free Guides prior to our visit.

What languages do guides speak? Currently, we have English, Chinese, French, Russian, Korean and Japanese speaking guides. It is HFTGs' great effort to extend our services in more languages to serve more tourists from all places in the world. In the near future, we also provide services in other languages such as: German, Italian, Spanish,..

Our guide was Huong Loan (In pink), who was a joy to be around with. We had asked for a chinese speaking guide due to our parents and Grandma who was with us, so they too could learn more about Hanoi. She had planned out a little intinerary, which, of course could be altered to how you want it to go. She was very patient with us, and with Grandma. Thank you Huong Loan for the wonderful day! Please look for us when you come to Singapore, we'll bring you around! ;)

It was, albeit wonderful, the place where we got scammed into buying souvenirs and what not.

I've been rather active on my Dayre account, so much that this space's been left untouched for some time.
Don't get me wrong, Dayre's pretty addictive in a way that it's easy to use & so much easier for on-the-go, but it won't ever win this blog.
Hell, this blog's been with me for almost 7 years now. All the memories & stupidity I once had, are all stored here, heh.

Will be flying off to Japan, then to Hong Kong in 7 days. I guess I'm really excited to be back in Japan again.
This few years I've really been blowing a lot on travelling, but I can't say I regret it.
In fact, it made me open my eyes to so much around me. If everyone has the chance, I'd recommend travelling to Japan: It's such a beautiful city with culture yet bursting with vibrance, really a combination of 2 worlds.
The best of technology, yet with underlying culture in between, experience it for yourself.
(HAHAHA I sound like an advertisment!)

Recently NTUC's been selling Korean strawberries & I have officially fallen for them, together with condensed milk. L O V E.
Doesn't the bowl of strawberries look gorgeous against my sheets? Heh. I love breakfast in bed! (Only with non-drippy food, though.)

The only thing I hate is strawberries not being able to last too long - had the whole box for breakfast this morning cos they were starting to start bad. :(
(Forgot I had them in the fridge - oops.)

One of my baby terrapins, who got bitten by the big one. We had to seperate him from the others, but he got bitten pretty bad: his neck swelled up from the bite. :(

He's always had such beautiful eyes though. Heal soon, baby boy!
(At least for today)My iPhone just died on me & now all I'm thinking is ohfuckkkk ohfuckkkk ohfuckkkkkkkkk.
Cos I have a TON of Garie pictures in there that I've NOT saved. Lol.

Long story short - dropped my iPhone from quite a tall height, face down.
Everything still works fine... Except the screen godamnnit.
I'll say it's a sign to get a 5S, except I'm going to Japan next month & would rather use the cash for travel as compared to a new iPhone.
Travel over material needs, any day.

I need to be awake in 7 hours and the backup's not complete yet so I'm slightly annoyed.
Also, I got woken up early by the boy's sister this morning so I'm slightly grumpy.

OK I'M NOT ONLY SLIGHTLY GRUMPY OKAY. THIS ASS BOY WENT STRAIGHT TO SLEEP WITHOUT OFFERING ME ANY CONSOLATION FOR MY IPHONE THIS ASS HE REALLY EW3HDHWEIFNWEIRFWIEFNWENFWFN !!!!!!!

There. I feel better.
(I
am damn pissed it's the 2nd time I'm typing this. Typed this out on my
iPhone originally and it had to crash as I was about to be done
GODAMNIT)

So. Hi! I guess it's the first time I've updated so promptly, having just gotten off the plane yesterday.
To be honest, this trip was everything I didn't think it would. But more on that later.
Just wondering, have you ever wondered how a person is determined as a good travel-mate, or not?
I've had my fair share of travelling with various groups of people: From friends, to lovers, to family, to distant relatives.
I've
travelled with the 'Zero-idea-of-where-to-go' type, the
'Anywhere-also-can-but-in-the-end-cannot' type, 'Easy-going-Easy-breezy' type, and more, and
to be honest I hate the kind that throw the itinerary at me, those who
tell me their favourite locations are 'they-don't-know". Seriously?

Chong and Greg were the more easy-going kind, and I'm glad it was with 'em I went to Phuket with.
Me and them, we've known each other for coming 10 years now, and this is the first time we 3 have gone overseas together.
Going
overseas with them is a very easy thing: having known each other for so
long, there's no need for pretenses, no need for false words, it's just
a whole lotta fun.
It's almost like hanging out with your
siblings. They're the brothers I never had - the ones I would talk my
heart out to, the ones that would endure my endless picture takings, the
ones that shine light on pathways when it gets dark, the ones who I can
talk countless crap with, and the ones that would be worried that I
would be too tired on days we slept little.
Also, maturity has
come along with their age: they had me cared for so well, that
sometimes I forget they're no longer the boys I knew 10 years back.
I guess however old we grow, they'll still always be my favourite boys. I just love them a whole lot.
Thanks, my boys, for this wonderful trip.

Pictures are from the iPhone, so pardon the quality.

We started off from Changi Airport Terminal 1 for our Thai AirAsia flight to Phuket. Flight time from Singapore to Phuket is 1 hour and 45 minutes approximate.

We spent $266.67 per pax for 4D3N Hotel Stay (At Secret Cliff Resort & Restaurant | Secret Cliff Villa) and the flight, including taxes. My friends are amazed at how I can always find such deals, heh. I booked the hotel and flight on Expedia, by the way. It's always cheaper to book the hotel and flights together.

[Did
you know there's a Cactus Garden at Terminal 1? Neither did we - we had
some time to kill so decided to take a brisk walk: wrong decision,
weather was scorching, and it was a Smoking Corner too. But there
were a good variety of Cactus though, so I guess if you like
Cactus it would be a good walk for you.]

We decided to just take it easy when we reached our hotel so we hailed a Tuk-tuk (200 baht, 1-way for 3 people) to Patong Beach. The area was a very bustling place, eateries at every corner, and tourists everywhere. Massage places and similar souvenir stores were abundant, with different pricings and "services". We settled for this outdoor bazaar place which sold Phuket's specialties, and had fire-breathing performances. Also managed to catch fireworks set off by the locals, so I guess it was a good spot.

Ended the first night simple with a few wine coolers & Running Man. (I'm glad they love Running Man as much as I do heh)
We booked a Phi Phi Island Tour at the Airport for the 2nd day. (Upon exiting Immigration, it's the shop counter opposite Phuket FantaSEA, right before the exit to the terminal.) It cost us 1950 baht per pax, and included tours to 3 islands at Phi Phi, Lunch, 3 Snorkeling Trips, and Transfer (To Hotel from Airport, from Hotel to/from Phi Phi).

Phi Phi Islands is a must-go for every trip to Phuket. It's full of postcard sceneries, with each beach more beautiful than the last. I almost couldn't believe what I saw was real, because it was that beautiful. The first Snorkel, though: 3 of us really really struggled, having no prior experience to snorkeling before. Once you get the gist, though, It was really amazing to watch all the fishes and corals below your feet. Just gotta be careful of the sea urchins, heard from the guide that if you got pricked, it's 2 or 3 weeks of medical leave for ya. (You could rent Swimming Fins, but what I thought was just wear a life jacket: with one your feet barely touches the sea floor, plus you get to see amazing underwater views without the fear of drowning.)

It
rained initially, but the skies cleared up as we reached the first
island. Monkey Island or something? Didn't quite hear the guide
correctly.

The hotel we stayed in was Secret Clff Resort & Restaurant. It was right smack on a cliff, with good views of the ocean from almost every villa. Almost. It's right smack in the middle of Karon Beach & Patong Beach, but it is not walking distance from either of them. If you want to eat something else other than the hotel's food, the only way is a Tuk-tuk to either beach, which will cost you 200 - 300 baht per trip.

Side-tracking a bit: Though the rooms are not too shabby, this is not a hotel for the careless or elderly. As it is located on a cliff literally, it is a hilly area and sometimes the steps to our room were wet and slippery (Monsoon season), and even us almost slipped a few times. It was really too dark and not enough light shined the steps, especially at night. We had to switch on our phone's lights to shine the way, and walk very, very carefully. The staff's attitude also leaves much to be desired sometimes, with very bo-chap attitudes. One incident was when we returned to our hotel at night, and it was raining so heavily we decided to borrow an umbrella from the reception. (Amost all Villas/rooms are seperated and there is no walkway from one to another.) The staff just gave us a very annoyed expression and asked us to wait, while they chatted, no less. I got so annoyed I just told the boys we should just dash through the rain, who knows if we had to wait till midnight for an umbrella?

Second incident was during Check-out. (Yes, there was a second.) Requested for the receptionist to call for a cab for us to the Airport, and without trying he told us there was none available. I just feel that it's very unprofessional as a hotel staff to say no to your customers when you haven't even tried. I would have left the matter as it were if you tried, but plain rejection without trying is just. Well, not professional at all.
On our last night, we booked a package with the hotel reception to Phuket FantaSEA. It was termed as one of the shows you cannot miss while in Phuket, and it turned out pretty amazing. It was like a huge theme park with shopping, restaurants, little bars, and animals. Remember to go in earlier than your show start so you can finish exploring everything! Too bad the show was pretty strict in regards to photography and all camera phones & cameras had to be deposited at the security counters, so I didn't manage any pictures. But: the show is so amazing that you will be marveling at. every. angle, trust me on that. Live animals, elephants, illusions, all in front of your eyes - pretty much a must-watch. (We paid 1650 baht per pax for Transfer to/from and for the show itself.)
Me and the boy just finished with our day tour and amaaazing massage and we're currently just lazing in our room, watching The Avengers on cable TV. Got an upgrade to the Deluxe room, which comes with a lounging area, a standing rain shower, and King-Sized Bed.

I think the main reason I always come back to 2D1N stays in Batam are the massages. SO worth it! For this 2D1N trip, we only paid $45 per pax for the hotel, ferry, buffet lunch, tour AND massage. Super cheap or what!?

It's a great way to get out of Singapore to relax for a bit, don't you think?

Uploading pictures in a bit!

The Chloe bag I bought in MegaMall for $5.00 Singapore Dollars cos my sling bag broke. Maybe I'll add in some other shots later, I'm entranced by the Room Service Menu (I'm the kind that absolutely love ordering Room Service!!): They've got Asian Fried Rice to T-Bone Steaks to Carbonara Pasta to Beef Burgers to Banana Spilts and Tiramisu!! What should I eat, wanna eat everything....

Can't wait to enjoy the bathtub later, and/or the Swimming Pool. I'm glad this hotel has a hair dryer; if not my hair won't even be dry by the time I checkout tomorrow WTF. (All toiletries are included, including toothbrushes!)

Update:

- Apparently the Water Boiler does not automatically switch off even after it boils. By the time we realize the boiler was less than half empty WTF.

- The water that came out from the tap AND the bath was a very slight yellow. .... I don't even want to know why. Apparently almost all the rooms had this problem. (I had to double-boil our waters for safety reasons lol)

- The room had awesome blackout curtains, which was great. Some hotel's blackout curtains barely even block out any light.

- Free Mini-bar drinks in the fridge! Every room's different, we got Chrysanthemum Tea & Winter Melon.

- Staff's attitude at Checkout leaves much to be desired. They insisted the 'Bath Mat' was gone from the bathroom (Which, by the way was not even there when we first Checked-In) and we had to go to back to the room to check. Didn't find it in the end BUT our tour guide solved the issue for us. Heard another group also had similar issues, so do check carefully upon checkin, lest you don't have a nice Tour Guide like ours.

- Swimming Pool's got a jacuzzi! It's open from 7am till 10pm daily.

All-in-one, I guess it was a pretty okay experience. But if you ask me if I would return.. I'll think about it. If it's still cheap or even cheaper, perhaps... But for now? My number 1 hotel is still Nongsa Point :D

(Did I mention before how much I love that place? I even brought my family there before, they loved it as well :D)

Blogged from my iPhone
Pingpinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02307122237891236876noreply@blogger.comBatam Batam1.131197 104.049798tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27248898.post-90411320060472215452013-08-21T15:22:00.004+08:002013-08-21T15:22:51.871+08:00Crazy.I find it crazy the guys over here PMS way more often then the girls do.
What's with the fucking black faces? Does anyone owe you money?
Even if anyone owes you money, no one fucking owes you a living.
I've got 3 words for 'em: Suck. It. Up.
Aren't you a man? If you are, I suppose it's time you acted like one.

Don't know who put a stick up their asses recently. Even if someone did - With this attitude of theirs, they deserved it.
Hell, even I want to do it with all the attitudes alllllll around. Geez.Pingpinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02307122237891236876noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27248898.post-31619059532027150012013-07-05T23:51:00.003+08:002013-07-05T23:51:33.276+08:00Blessed.Blessed.
At least that was what I was feeling before you made me feel like shit.
Why did you always have to be the cold blanket, the one who strips away my happiness & fulfillment?
Fuck this shit, and fuck you, it's 2 bloody days before my birthday and I deserve the best. I do not fucking deserve your fucking attitude.

Anyway.. As I was mentioning. This work week has finally gotten itself over and I'm flying off tomorrow!
So psyched all of a sudden now. Got so many little surprises today, and it's made me smile so much.
Got to go home early at 5pm, colleague snuck a little gift inside my bag (No wonder he kept asking about my bag today! Because he snuck a red packet in! Heh thank you dear boy, it's gonna go into my Japanese Class funding ;) And after that my Aunts came to pay me a little visit & talked for a bit, they brought presents from my cousin too! All the red packets I received are going into my Class Funding wee!

I knew The Secret was a good thing. Believe & you will get it. In fact - Imma start re-reading it again! Why not, since I've got so many hours on board the flight to Tokyo, right? Heh, my adventure's just getting started...

I will kill this dead mood of mine with Running Man, they always, always manage to make me smile even after a damn shitty day. ❤❤❤ Pingpinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02307122237891236876noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27248898.post-77483260371163807112013-07-05T01:05:00.001+08:002013-07-05T01:05:12.197+08:0024It's just been a long week.
My last work week before I leave for Japan, and Korea.
Exam for Elementary 2 this week.
Meetup with my boys for dinner.
And finally leaving for my planned-for-damn-long trip, & meeting my favourite Jie.
I guess I'm just feeling alot of emotions right now and need an outlet. :)

Last workweek before Japan/Korea

Though I'm pretty free at the office these days, still have to take care of day-to-day duties. Planned & wrote a list for my colleague so she won't get lost when I'm not around. Explained everything to her. Told her not to call me 'cos my phone's got zero service in Japan. (Seriously, lol. Was totally fine in Hong Kong's Airport, but suddenly went No Service at Osaka. Reckon it'll be the same this time in Tokyo?)
Seriously though, it's already Thursday (Technically Friday now eeks) & my luggage is not half packed. Should I be in a slight panic? Hmm. Guess not.

Exam for Japanese, Elementary 2.

Had the exam for Elementary 2 on Wednesday. I was fretting over myself during the test. Others finished so fast, I was so slow! I was thinking to myself, Well I either am gonna do damn well, or damn poorly. I was so unsure of my answers, but before I handed in the paper I told myself: Ah, just fuck this. I did my bloody best. And I waited for Sensei to mark the papers. I was all trembling fingers while she did. And when she smiled and returned it to me..
I got 95 upon 100. Even higher than my Elementary 1 results! I was amazed. Sensei said it was a job well done :) I really did not expect it, but I'm glad all my efforts paid off. :) :) :)

せんせい、ありはとう ございます!あなたは ほうとに いいせんせい ですよ! ❤

Meetup with my boys today.

Met up with Chong & Greg today for dinner. Greg bought us to this supposedly yums Chicken Rice place at Bishan & it was a small birthday treat for me! I guess things are so much simpler when you hang around boys, and I being the only girl now, they treat me like a princess. Heck, this boy Chong even sent me home right till my block cos he said it was late, even when I told him there was no need to! (Even though his bike was a teeny bit too tall and my butt hurt. Regardless..) Which guys are such gentlemen nowadays! I always feel pampered by them both. :) (Heh, I always tell my boy I am a princess & he should treat me like one! But he never does. ): ) I always feel very content and just happy and satisfied after I return from a dinner with 'em. We never really do anything serious, but just talk and have dinner together, and that's great enough. They're just great boys (Men now, to be exact.) and their wives are gonna be lucky, lucky girls. I just love them so much & I want the best for them, regardless.

Glad it's finally Friday tomorrow.

I needed it, an ending to the week, and to start off our trip. A bit scared but psyched, a little nervous but excited. I just can't wait. I guess I just want a hug, now. Can't wait for my boy to get home. :)

On a random note: Can you believe me and the boy are reaching 7 years this week on my birthday? Wow. 7 years with a person, that's a bloody long time. This year's left me with so much, now it's gonna get better. Happy birthday to me. :)Pingpinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02307122237891236876noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27248898.post-4248358611259552552013-05-27T16:43:00.000+08:002013-05-27T17:06:32.871+08:00Tokyo DriftAt the ending of Fast & Furious 6, I saw a peek of the streets of Tokyo & it stirred up so many emotions in me. Happiness, excitement, fear.. Just to name a few. I was so excited to finally be able to step into the country, a different one from any I've experienced. Sure, I've been to Osaka, but Osaka & Tokyo are so much different from each other, every country offers a different view, that is what I'm looking forward to. Tokyo and Korea.. Hope I can see Garie-oppa there LOL! -fangirl-

(Digressing, never thought I would enjoy the movie so much. I was a never a 'cars'
kinda girl, so when I went to the cinema expecting time to pass real
slow - whoa. Amazed. Definitely gonna catch the other five installments
now; and that means alot, coming from someone who has zero interest in vehicles.)

Haven't had time to properly finish my itinerary yet - it's about 45% done at this point, but I guess I'm still in a slacking kinda mode since there's still time. Japanese level 2 however, is a different story. Sensei was right when she mentioned it would be different from Level 1. It is, more interesting but more difficult. So many concepts similar yet different when infused together. I always anticipate lessons now, and now the thought of continuing with Level 3's bouncing in my mind. What for go for Level 1 & 2, but stop there, right? Might as well go all the way. Sure, I take time to understand the concepts and what nots - but the language's really intriguing me, bit by bit. And Sensei! The way she teaches and her plentiful expressions, I adore her style of teaching.

Ah, I've started rambling again. Perhaps I'll update this space with some pictures when I get home. Till then, happy Monday! (I know Mondays are normally not associated with the word Happy.. But that's how I am feeling, after seeing pictures of our Monday Couple! :)Pingpinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02307122237891236876noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27248898.post-46067308025063277962013-04-21T02:15:00.001+08:002013-05-27T17:06:56.314+08:00BecauseBecause sometimes I look at her & I think,
was I so inconsiderate, so naive, so foolish, so immature when I was younger?
Thinking I could hold the world up on my own, not believing in anyone's words..

And that is what makes me want to strive to be a better person, even now.Pingpinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02307122237891236876noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27248898.post-80935221297191043072013-04-01T17:30:00.001+08:002013-05-27T17:07:07.354+08:00Tears(눈물) (Feat. People who don't appreciate you for your work, who nit-pick on you, who gives so, much, <s>fucking</s> excuses.

I've almost reached my limit.
Almost.

Don't try me - I'm sure you'll be the one to regret more than I will. The thrill of exploring somewhere you've never been, that breath of air once you stepped off the plane.. That was what I anticipate the most everything I travel now.

Since
it all begun, I've told myself that I've had to go overseas at least once a
year but so far, I've exceeded that target by so much more. ;)
Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, Bangkok, Japan... And I'm so excited to add so many more countries to that list.
After
experiencing Osaka last year, me & the boy has taken up learning
Japanese (Elementary 1!) in order to go to Japan to experience life
there for a while. We know this wish of ours will take time to conquer,
but we're gonna work towards that goal! Anyhow, we'll need to get to
brushing our Japanese up to higher levels first.
Sensei (Teacher in Japanese) says a minimum understanding of Advanced is
required to go work/live there!
So... がんばります~~ (Translation: I will work hard~)
Anyhow,
on the travel list this year is Seoul & Tokyo! Since Shimin will be
headed to Japan in March, our plan is to first meet in Seoul for a
couple of days (& maybe get to meeting the Running Man wtf) and then
head on to Tokyo for another few more days! I'm so damn psyched just thinking about it, can't wait for it to arrive!
I know, twice in a month - that's gonna be breaking some record of mine. Since I was clearing pictures off my phone and into my computer, I thought I may as well update.
This space's been too stale lately, full of the old. Y'know what they say right? In with the new, out with the old.

I've been watching SO much Running Man episodes it's scary. For the fast 2+ months it's just been endless episodes after another in my iPad, from the oldest episode back in 2011 till the newest episodes in 2013.
My favourite's gotta be every Monday Couple moments, they're so adorable together ♡♡
Because of Running Man too, I've started listening to K-pop more & the newest songs on my iPhone are LeeSSang's. Take a listen to Tears by LeeSSang, you'll like it like I did. Gary's voice really suits the rap!
My colleague's wedding in Malaysia; boss drove us over to Muar for his wedding. Fate's a funny thing, just before he announced his marriage, he was telling me he didn't want to get tied down so early - now he's a father. Heh, that's destiny isn't it? I know he'll be a great father though, this kid.
(Yes, we're of the same age.. BUT he's 15 days younger then me - still a kid to me lol)
Gardens by the Bay with the boy & his little sister. Haven't had the chance to go to the SuperTrees, maybe soon!
The Flower Dome at Gardens by the Bay. (I know you can't see any flowers but I just wanted to take a picture of the structure then. Lol)
The boy & I got ourselves terrapins. He's been whining about getting them for awhile, so we got a pair to begin with... And now we have 5 palm-sized ones. (Not kidding) They grow so fast! They used to be so small & adorable and now sometimes we are scared when we change the water of the tank. (Again, not kidding. Wish I was, though. Lol) Still love them to bits, though!

Bangkok last year with Shimin for my birthday trip! It's really an interesting place, I found.
Love the temples, all the statues & tiles were pretty detailed, and Bangkok's really, really a shopping heaven. I think I just may make Bangkok a yearly affair - things there are SO affordable! The only bad thing is that once you're back - you find things here too expensive. Pfft.

Didn't have much of street food there - mostly smells that Shimin and I weren't too keen on exploring. Had this though, something like Singapore's roti-prata, but with banana slices and condensed milk drizzled on generously. It was good, but not impressionable.
Perhaps from the right vendor it would be good? Ours was from an old uncle below our hotel.

Love, love, love the Siam Aquarium in Siam Paragon. Who would have expected a aquarium underneath a shopping mall be filled with so much fun? Arabian guys tried to hit on Shimin there (LOL! Most epic experience ever, she had to lie to them that she had a boyfriend in Singapore. Still wouldn't give up, them. They even said I look Arabic -_-)
Had the chance to sit on a glass-bottom boat - watching sharks swim underneath you, now that's something you won't ever forget.)

All my Bangkok loots for 3 days! Brought about S$700 there, and it was just about right for everything - including souvenirs & gifts for family. Enough to practically live like a King (or Queen, actually).

On the eve of my birthday, went on a 1 night cruise with my cousins! Had SO much fun - wandered around the ship, sharing jokes, talking about nothing & everything - best night of 2012, I reckon.
I'm so glad we're going overseas (Although to Batam only.. But still better than nothing!!) in 3 weeks' time! I can't wait - I've got a surprise for them all! Heheh!

Sunset on the cruise - breathtaking, actually. I love watching skies. It's something that's there everyday, but never quite the same.

One of the most exciting days in 2012.. When our Japan trip finally got confirmed.

Going to Japan is quite different from going to other countries, I think. It was the first time Ive been so far - & in a country where people could completely not understand our language. But the Japanese, as always, exceeded my expectations. I remember the first day when we arrived - we were just staring at the Railway map, and this Japanese man came up to us & offered his help - he thought we were lost.
The Japanese are always so willing to help, and offer a smile with everything. I guess that was one of the things that caught our heart there. (Besides the beautiful men & women, of course. And also the warm toilet seats during Winter always helps WTF)

In Koyasan. This was a family graveyard.
(At Koyasan, every picture I took of the graveyard I prayed in respect to them - it's a graveyard, after all - better to be safe right?)

At the Supermarket in Japan. They really have everything there. Me and the boy really wanted to bring SO many things home, but due to luggage constraint... :(

A random garden in the temple's also so beautiful. It's the Japan air, I believe. The air's so fresh, at Koyasan. It's really what you would term as clean, crisp, mountain air.

Near Shimin's apartment in Osaka.

The main entrance to the Inari gates in Japan. After climbing Mt. Inari I came down with a bad cold the next day - sweating during the cold nights climbing a mountain in winter, probably not a good idea. Lol!

It took us around 2 hours to conquer Mt. Inari. Each of the Tori gates are donated by someone, the size of the gates would differ according to the amount donated. There were nearly tens of thousands of gates on the way up, they line the path up to the peak. Each of the gates are carved with the donator's name & date donated.
It's a very astonishing sight - they line the way up, then down. I can still remember wanting to give up & rest but the boy and Shimin kept saying: Almost there, almost there! when we were nowhere there. They kept telling me that, and when we finally reached the peak - there was nothing but a sign that says: 顶端 (Peak in Chinese.)
Felt very cheated -_- At least at the half-way mark there was a view of the glittering city lights that spanned for miles. Could have stared for it longer but we were rushing for the train home wtf.

Again, at Koyasan. Postcard scenics there, to be honest. Every corner you turn, it was beautiful. Even the drain canals -_-

Us at USJ (Universal Studios Japan!) Didn't explore each & every ride - but it was fun enough, we got to enjoy USJ's Halloween! There weren't too many scare actors, which were saddening - but! The scarce actors really were quite scary!~
My favourite ride was the Hollywood Dream: it looked mild but it could be compared to Battlestar Galactica at USS (Universal Studios Singapore)! When I got down I was stunned into shock & one of my eyelashes almost dropped off wtf.

Some of the souvenirs we got at USJ! No wonder they say Japan's the land of souvenirs, they think of everything! Keychains to phone chargers to dust caps or coins - all there.

I love this one that Shimin snapped of me going down the stairs from Sagano.

Sunset at Sagano. The 3 of us (Shimin, the boy and I) just practically stood there & admired the view from an overhead bridge.

All the amulets we got in Japan - that's why Shimin said we'll be very safe going back home, we had a ridiculous amounts of amulets.
In our defence, most of them were for friends & family! (Mom dropped the one I got for her :(

Lastly, this quote I thought every girl should know. Bye, for now. ♡Pingpinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02307122237891236876noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27248898.post-16877685287115355712012-07-29T02:42:00.002+08:002012-07-29T02:42:33.471+08:00Night Safari SingaporeThis week was so fuck-busy at work cos of a last minute project. Stayed late at work everyday (And I'm the kind that only does overtime once/twice on a yearly basis, imagine that. Me + Overtime do not mix.) and even helped with the labour work of stuffing down feathers into cushions. Not a fun job, I tell you. Every cushion I stuffed, I briefly wondered how many ducks' feathers were used. Also made my arms ache soooo bad. And not in a delicious way. (Which, by the way, I now know Yoko-Yoko does not help much with muscle aches. At all. Pffft.)

Last week, however, was pretty awesome:

a) Met Joel for last-minute dinner. Talked soooo long about random stuff & shopped in supermarkets & Daiso. We are so housewives material at heart. I love this man.

b) Boyf dropped by to my workplace to have lunch with me! He skipped the chance to sleep late & accompanied me for lunch, afterwhich we shopped for snacks to be stocked in my office's snack drawer. (Yes, I've got a snack drawer. Problem? :) He also brought fruits (On my persuasion) for my colleagues - which they did not even leave a single piece for me. -sad-

c) Tea-time, which turned out to be a late lunch cum dinner with Leemin & Greg. Walked the hell outta Ang Mo Kio & concluded that there wasn't much to be done there (Which wasn't movies or K-box - both of which we were not keen in.) Ate/talked so much it wasn't even funny anymore. (Okay, our conversation contents were highly humorous, if I'd say so myself.) And Greg accompanied us to shop for clothes! We told him it was training for when he'd get a girlfriend. HAHAHA. So, so, so much love for these two. ♥

Alrighty. Gonna update with a trip with the 2 important people in my life, we went to the Night Safari Singapore together! Ever since dropping by the Halloween Horrors 2 years back I've always wanted to make a decent trip back to explore the place. If you'd know me, I've always loved celebrating my birthdays at tourist attractions. (I've celebrated before at Singapore Zoo, which, by the way: Offers free admission for your birthday! Also went to Jurong Bird Park, which also has the same offer as Singapore Zoo, since they're under the same group. My last birthday was spent at Hong Kong's Disneyland :)

This is Shimin looking really happy about pretending her leg is bitten by a crocodile (Or alligator. I can't tell for nuts)

This is me & my boyfriend of 6 years, who is ridiculously skinny.

At the Entrance of the Night Safari Singapore. Admission opens at 7.30pm, shops open earlier.

A blur picture of a fishing cat, which was pacing around way too fast.

The only thing that came to my mind was Sandshrew. I seriously can't remember the name!?

Adorable Mousedeer.

Apparently, according to the Zookeepers, they have alot of different breeds of 'em at the Night Safari.

Interesting fact: Did you know the green/white at the Night Safari cannot be seen under the animals' eyes? They were built so that visitors can see the animals at their most natural.
Also, no flash photography is to be used at the Night Safari!

One of my favourite reptiles, but they creep me out every. Single. Time.

They were fucking huge, around 3/4 of my height!

Another of my favourite animals.

Me & Shimin ran out of the Bats' Wing the moment the bats flew past our heads. (Super huge!!) Boyf stayed to conquer them (And take photos.)

Super cute otters!!

There are much, much more animals at the Night Safari, but you have to see them with your own eyes to experience it. It's really a different experience from seeing the animals at the Singapore Zoo I suppose. Night time.. Does have its' charms, especially the tram ride - which you can see the animals really, really clearly. If you're going though, bring Insect Repellent - I did, & I didn't have a single bite.

One of the reasons I love Singapore. Though small, we pack a bunch of things to be done. It's just up to how you explore it :) Ah, National Day is arriving, must remind Mom to hang up the flag! Pingpinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02307122237891236876noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27248898.post-87868323076584036602012-07-17T14:30:00.002+08:002012-07-17T14:30:30.623+08:00HipstaPrints2 months have passed since my last update, & I am 23 already.
Soon, I'll be experiencing my Quarter-life crisis.. But before that I'm sure Life has much, much more to offer me ;)
I've been happily living my life & experiencing things I never thought I could these few months, life's been great.
It's also about to be more awesome, cos me & Boyf's tickets to Japan ARE. NOW. CONFIRMED. ♥
Japan - it's always only been a place I dared to dream about, never thought I'll be realizing my dream to step into Japan. I'm sure it's gonna be A.W.E.S.O.M.E!.

Slowly, I'm learning to let go of things that shouldn't even be bothering me as much. Things that hurt you should never stay, I should have learnt that from the start.

Oh, it's also been me & Boyf's sixth anniversary on my birthday. My only response to that?: WHAT. THE. F. ?
That means I've spent more than a quarter of my life with this guy, wow. He must have some holy patience with me, huh.-grins-
Thank you Boyf, for tolerating my ever-changing moods & ever-changing tempers & my ever-fluctuating weight HAHAHA.
Here's to many more anniversaries to come ♥

Me & Shimin are sooo packed with travel plans, I think we are planning to conquer the world heh.
Next year, our travelling's gonna bring us to Europe - The country of my dreams. I've always, always wanted to go there, the architecture amazes me to no end.
Europe, here we come ♥

My tears accompany to sleep mostly, and I wait stupidly.
I should have known it'll never work.

If you'd just pull me back, my fragile heart will listen.
Even if you tell me 1 + 1 = 3, I'll believe you.

I really shouldn't listen to emo love songs at this hour.
They confuse my brain and make irrelevant tears fall.
Funny enough I was just laughing at a comedy 30 minutes back, but being alone - it does things to you.

<strike>I miss you so much. Fuck this shit.</strike>

---
I thought that since I was doing backdated posts, might as well go back to the very beginning.
The pictures below are from last year's February (Yes, I know lol) trip to Malaysia. We went to Penang, Cameron Highlands but mostly stuck around Kuala Lumpur.
I vaguely remember the air tickets were mad cheap, me and my mom got return air fares, for 2 people we paid only S$128. Including taxes. It pays to book early, so remember that tip!

It's been awhile since we returned - so Mom wanted to take a walk around. This was around my uncle's neighbourhood.

This swing chair goes waaaay back - it used to be at my Grandmother's, but now they rented out the old house to someone so it's now at my uncle's.
I remember me and my cousins sitting on this chair and talking when I was super small, like 7 or 8 years old. It used to be a sky blue kinda color but I guess they repainted it.

Prior to this trip, we hadn't went back to Malaysia for about 3 - 4 years already. Almost couldn't regconise my relatives, to be honest.

Man, I was skinnier back then. (*sad)

Grandfather and Granddaughter in similar poses. My Grandfather has that kinda fatherly look about him don't you think?

I think we were on a ferry to Penang.

It wasn't on my first time on board ships like this, but I still remember my first time - I asked Mom if the ship was able to take so much weight, and if we would sink. Haha.

Relatives always liked bringing us to temples.

Mom writing her blessings for our family to be given for prayer (or something.)

Another temple atop a hill. Glorious view of the city, if you ask me.

They had this statue in the midst of upgrading works. Hmm.

Even simple pillars in temples have intricate details.

Mom has to have this everytime we go to Penang. It's the famous Penang laksa, and unlike Singapore laksa, this has a more kind of sour & spicy taste which I am not fond of.

We then went to a snake temple. I always liked going there (Seeing as how my zodiac is the Snake.)

Tons of snakes in the temple, but I'm gonna leave you with just one picture. Yes, it's not caged.

This was Cameron Highlands.

It weren't that cold, to be honest. Maybe 25 degrees the lowest? We were at a vegetable farm here. Admission costs RM$2 a head.

They grew cabbages and spinach's and what not. (Can't remember, don't like veggies anyway.)

Tea plantations that stretch far, far away. It was really quite astounding, the view. Plus, as you admire the view, the smell of the tea leaves just engulfs you. Quite an experience I'd say.

Went allllll the way to the tea factory - but it was closed for New Year's, so we settled for tea at the cafe. The way up was so treacherous it was scary. Roads were so narrow and steep. Don't ever go with an inexperienced driver, really.

Bee farm on the way back, they sold raw honey for RM$50 per bottle, which had really good health benefits, according to Mom. But raw honey tastes a tad weird for me, though.

Uncle also <strike>stole</strike> took 3 sour strawberries for us on the way down.

I look fucking haggard, but fuck that. We look happy, at the least.
The love and hate I have for you is on a par. I hate how easily you shake my will & dismiss me easily - though you, are always, always edged in my mind. I hate the most about that myself - I can't seem to drop you, though you scald my hands like a burning coal.
I wish sometimes my heart was more open, so I can perhaps take out things I don't need from my heart - in this case: You.
I am filled with a mixture of happiness and sadness everytime your name flashes on my screen. I ponder if I should leave it - but that thought is never there longer than a second, then I snatch to reply.
Merely nothing but a puppet, played by your actions.
Went on the cable cars - apparently there's 2 of them in Genting, we took the one with the longer route<s> to waste time</s>.
That about sums up my Genting trip this January - a word of advice: Don't go during New Years' seriously. The crowds were a pain in the ass.Pingpinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02307122237891236876noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27248898.post-91318366908980093302012-04-17T23:36:00.002+08:002012-04-18T00:04:37.442+08:00Loot Post #2Been 4 months since my last update - can't say I'm better, but at least I feel I'm much more positive as compared to a few months back.
Some things I've learned to let go, others not to hold so stubbornly.
I've met so many whom I thought were worth a place in my heart - but stabbed me in my back after. Such gracious friends, huh.
To be honest, throughout my life I have never met anyone who has backstabbed me like she has, and worse still - a gossipmonger. But I'm so, so glad I earn much more trust as compared to her. She has no idea who she's dealing with - I'm worried she'll only get burned, but ah. Not my business anymore, since she decided to stab me in the back. :)

I've been thinking alot of positive thoughts lately, thanks to this book I am currently reading.
I must say I'm pretty intrigued. So far, it's worked quite a bit, and anyway no harm trying, right? Here's to a better me, a better life, a better world! :)

Here's a mini loot post to lighten the mood around here. Clearing my new jewellery boxes from ASOS, doubt they're still carrying them though! Boyf said my claw ring looks creepy :(

ASOS Single Drawer Jewellery Box - ASOS.com, £6
Claw Ring - Jipaban.com

I recently wore the Transformers ring to Universal Studios Singapore, and in the midst of the Rapids Adventure ride, this adorable american suddenly asked: "Excuse me, where did you get your Transformers ring? Did you get it in Universal Studios? It's really adorable!"
Mind you, we were ON the ride! Haha!

Transformers Ring, from Nakedglory

I realize I don't have a gazillion fingers, but I love my accessories.
